Karl D. Witkowski (1860-1910) | Genre painter

Karol (Karl) Dominik Witkowski (16 August 1860, Yazlovets, now Buchach Raion - 17 May 1910) was a Polish🎨-American🎨 portraitist and genre painter🎨, better known in the USA as Karl Witkowski.
He painted scenes of contemporary daily life in America.
Karol Dominik Witkowski was born to a Polish family in Jazłowiec (Jaslowiec), near Buchach, Czortków (Podole, Poland, now Ukraine).
As young boy he showed unusual talent in making drawings and his parents sent him to school in Chortkiv (12 miles from Yazlovets).
In 1879 he enlisted in the Austrian Army (in 19th century southern Poland was occupied by Austria and named Galicia), where he gained popularity by making portraits of his fellow soldiers and commanding officers, including a portrait of General Duke William of Württemberg and portrait of Lieutenant Field Marshal Emanuel Salomon of Friedberg - Mírohorsky (this army officer also was a genre painter, it is possible, why later in USA Karl Witkowski became genre painter).

Anna Bocek 1973 | Polish painter

Anna Bocek studied at Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland, Faculty of Painting Set Design. Diploma in 1999. Undoubtedly, such mainspring of art for me is theatre - the most important source of inspiration and spiritual experiences both, as a viewer and an artist. Both aspects are equally important for me anyway.
The first directly influences the topics of my paintings (related not so much to the theatrical space itself, as to the human being existing in it). The second one makes my paintings come to life and gives them tree-dimensional characteristic.

Tomasz Rut, 1961

Justyna Kopania | Poland

Art is my asylum, life, poetry, music, the best cigar, tasty strong tea, everything. My Art reflects the world I perceive with all mysenses; people I meet and love; nature I admire, and all the things that affect the way I am.The Man is my main inspiration and This Man is the principal topic of my project. I am focusing on Their psyche, attitudes, as well as Their appearance, manners and all the complex processes that take place both outside and inside the Man.I cannot imagine existing without my art, my paintings, my inspirations - it is, and will be, an intrinsic part of my life. I prefer oil painting on huge canvases. People from all around Europe find the pieces of their selves in my works and are impressed with the sincerity and truth expressed through them.In my studio - work - I paint a few, sometimes  several hours a day. This is typical painting - easel, oil, structural. Paintings are "fleshy." Paint requires both painting, as well as brushes - and I do not regret the paint. Paintings are painted this way - creates a kind of reliefs. Paintings are painted in a sort of style, original ... - Inspired by certain  passages of what I see, and stay in my memory. Paitings are entirely painted by hand. I always try to give the climate the moment that stuck in my memory.
