Cecile Walton (1891-1956) Symbolist painter




From an artistic family, Scottish painter Cecile Walton was the daughter of Glasgow Boys artist Edward Arthur Walton.
She studied in London, Edinburgh, Paris and Florence and became a member of the Edinburgh Group, practising in the capital as a painter, sculptor and illustrator.
Influenced by the Symbolist style, her book illustrations for the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen perfectly capture the fanciful characters and stories of the Danish author. | © National Galleries of Scotland

Tamara de Lempicka (1898-1980) | The Baroness with a Brush



Born Maria Gorska in 1898 in Warsaw, Poland (then a sovereign state of Russia), Tamara de Łempicka🎨 has come to be recognized both by her epithet, "Baroness with a Brush", and as icon of the Roaring Twenties.
As the daughter of wealthy parents, she was sent to Lausanne, Switzerland, to attend boarding school as a child - an experience she despised.

Carlotta Edwards (1894-1977) | Ballet dancers



Carlotta Edwards was the daughter of the French painter🎨 Ferdinand Pourrier. She is well know for her paintings of ballet scenes and exhibited at both the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Paris Salon.

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Anna Marinova studied at the Saint Petersburg Roerich College of Art.
