Artistic background

Born in Sydney, Australia, in 1959 to French parents, Bruvel grew up in the south of France. His father was a cabinetmaker, and Bruvel trained in his shop, where he learned about precision and three-dimensional design.

Artistic education:

At age 15, he attended a respected art restoration workshop in Chateaurenard, France, mastering historical techniques and art history.

Move to the US

Bruvel first visited the United States in the mid-1980s, holding a successful solo show in Laguna Beach, California, in 1988, before settling permanently in the country in 1990. He now resides in Wimberley, Texas.
