Josef Loukota, baptized Josef Jindřich, was a Czech painter🎨, graphic artist, illustrator and professor of the Prague Academy.

He studied in 1896-1899 at the Prague School of Applied Arts under K.V. Mašek and E.K. Liška; then - at the Prague Academy under Václav Brožík and Hanuš Schwaiger.

In 1910-1939 he was Director of Preparatory School of the Academy of Prague.

Besides that he was collaborating with Vojtech Hynais on the latter's work in Pantheon of Prague National Museum.

Josef Loukota specialized in portrait and genre🎨 paintings. For many years he was also active as an illustrator for "Meggendorfer Blätter".

Dal 1896 al 1899 studiò presso la Scuola di Arti Applicate di Praga con K.V. Mašek e E.K. Liška; poi - all'Accademia di Praga sotto Václav Brožík e Hanuš Schwaiger.

Dal 1910-1939 fu direttore della scuola preparatoria dell'Accademia di Praga.

Inoltre ha collaborando con Vojtech Hynais al lavoro di quest'ultimo nel Pantheon del Museo Nazionale di Praga.

Josef Loukota si era specializzato in ritratti e dipinti di genere.

Per molti anni è stato anche attivo come illustratore per "Meggendorfer Blätter".
