Cynthia Decker | Imaginary Realism painter

Cynthia Decker is an artist who created the realistic artwork rendered in 3D effect, using the artistic techniques of pixels instead of painting.

"- I live and work nestled in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. My home office studio faces right into the woods adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Every day I am surrounded by the perfect balance of technology and nature. I couldn't wish for more. As a child, I would draw and paint at any opportunity.
My Mother was the head of the computer science department at a local community college, and did some work in artificial intelligence for NASA.
My father was an engineer for Ford Aerospace. Because of my parent's jobs, we had a computer in the house when not everyone had home computers.
I became comfortable with them as a kid and was starting to do digital art with paint programs in the late 1990s".

"Throughout high school and college I practiced art and design, and I also continued working with traditional media.
I left college early to begin a graphic design career and continued to teach myself and explore new digital media. I began using 3D software and finally felt I had really found the medium that best let me express my artistic ideas.
I began showing and selling prints of my work in local galleries and coffee shops, and I now do so through this website, and in physical galleries here in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Hawaii. I am always looking for new venues, and hope to expand this list in coming years".

"I am inspired by the everyday, by life lessons, small moments, and big ideas. My goal is to take these inspirations and present them to you the same way I see them in my head; as objects for you to discover, and places you could walk into and explore.
I think of my images as a calculated combination of the familiar and the impossible. I want to create visual stories, scenes that are open to your interpretation, places that invite you in and let you complete the narrative for yourself. My images are how I see feelings and experiences, and I want you to be able to see how they fit within your own life story as well.
I believe the digital medium is finding its place in the art world, and that artists should use, value and enjoy all available means of creative expression. I hope that artists and art lovers everywhere continue to push the boundaries of what constitutes a fine art medium".
