Hafsa Idrees is an Pakistani painter and writer born in Islamabad.

- "Art has always been close to my heart and even though I have not received a formal education in any particular genre, drawing/painting is an important part of my life. Since school, I have been experimenting with and enjoying different styles, media and techniques".

"I started with Arabic calligraphy at the age of 10 but I soon realized that I enjoyed painting and drawing too. My subjects then were things and people from my immediate surroundings but with time I started to explore different kinds of paints, pencils, materials and subjects".

"I am a writer too, but through art I express myself more freely.

Impressionists like Van Gogh, Monet, and Iris have inspired me so much that I recently dared to explore this genre mainly with finger painting.

Picasso said "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up" and I realized that finger painting is the answer to this.

Our fingertips are designed in a perfect way to manipulate paint, create magical pieces of art and unique textures. I often use brushes too, depending on the size, subject and desired composition.

I enjoy applying and developing my skills through the exploration of different subjects such as landscapes, figures, animals, and other aspects of nature. My work is predominantly in oils, but I enjoy creating works in acrylic, pastel and charcoal as well".

"I would call my current style modern impressionist, semi-abstract and in some cases my work has post-impressionist and expressionist influences. I do not have a fixed creative process; the main idea can be an emotional impulse, a tender moment I experienced, a place that touched me profoundly or simply a dream.

Colours are very important for my composition when I plan a painting. There is a beauty in the colourful splatter of rainbow therefore I try to use a rich palette. Among all colours, blue is my favourite.

Formal art education is important for an artist to develop and succeed as a professional, but one can express, enjoy, and create art and get accepted by the art world without one. It maybe a long journey, full of struggle but the rewards are rich".

Hafsa Idrees è una pittrice e scrittrice Pakistana nata ad Islamabad.

- "L'arte è sempre stata nel mio cuore e anche se non ho ricevuto un'educazione formale ed il disegno / pittura sono una parte importante della mia vita.

Sin dalla scuola ho sperimentato e apprezzato diversi stili, media e tecniche. Ho iniziato con la calligrafia araba all'età di 10 anni ma presto ho capito che mi piaceva anche dipingere e disegnare.

I miei soggetti allora erano cose e persone del mio ambiente circostante, ma con il tempo ho iniziato ad esplorare diversi tipi di colori, matite, materiali e soggetti.

Sono anche una scrittrice, ma attraverso l'arte mi esprimo più liberamente.

Impressionisti come Van Gogh, Monet e Iris mi hanno ispirato così tanto che recentemente ho osato ad esplorare questo genere principalmente con la pittura con le dita.

Picasso ha detto: "Ogni bambino è un artista. Il problema è come rimanere un artista una volta cresciuto" e ho capito che la pittura con le dita è la risposta a questa domanda".

"Uso spesso anche i pennelli, a seconda delle dimensioni, del soggetto e della composizione desiderata. Mi piace applicare e sviluppare le mie capacità attraverso l'esplorazione di diversi soggetti come paesaggi, figure, animali ed altri aspetti della natura.

Il mio lavoro è prevalentemente ad olio, ma mi piace anche creare opere in acrilico, pastello e carboncino.

Definirei il mio stile attuale impressionista moderno, semi-astratto ed in alcuni casi il mio lavoro ha influenze post-impressioniste ed espressioniste.

Non ho un processo creativo fisso; l'idea principale può essere un impulso emotivo, un momento tenero che ho vissuto, un luogo che mi ha toccato profondamente o semplicemente un sogno.

I colori sono molto importanti per la mia composizione quando progetto un dipinto. C'è una bellezza nello splatter colorato dell'arcobaleno, quindi cerco di usare una ricca tavolozza. Tra tutti i colori, il blu è il mio preferito.

L'educazione artistica formale è importante per un artista per svilupparsi ed ottenere successo come professionista, ma si può esprimere, godere e creare arte ed essere accettati dal mondo dell'arte senza uno.

Forse è un viaggio lungo, pieno di lotte ma le ricompense sono ricche".
