Beata Sasik is an oil painter in New Orleans.

- "I like to think about myself as an expressionist even though my style of work probably best fall into the category of Contemporary Impressionism.

Well, whatever it may be you can definitely call me a Colorist.

When I paint I am taken by the transcendental vibrant color and the contrast of light and dark that are the reflection of emotion and energy of the creative process.

I am known best for my city rainy night scenes with my signature miniature distant silhouettes with umbrellas as well as an extensive series of New Orleans works painted using a palette knife.

Thick impasto was always very dominant in all of my paintings no matter if a brush or a knife were used.

I started painting with a palette knife in 1998 and fell in love with the effects I was getting as well as the possibilities of this technique.

The knife turned out to be the voice of my imagination.

I have an extensive experience as an artist working in oils.

I have been painting for 28 years and although my medium of choice are oils, I have also worked in acrylics and pastels.

Besides painting I am also a glass artist and a silversmith".

Quando dipingo sono catturato dal colore vibrante trascendentale e dal contrasto di luce e buio che sono il riflesso dell'emozione e dell'energia del processo creativo.

Sono conosciuta soprattutto per le scene notturne piovose della mia città con le mie tipiche sagome distanti in miniatura con ombrelli ed una vasta serie di opere di New Orleans dipinte utilizzando una spatola.

L'impasto spesso è sempre stato dominante in tutti i miei dipinti, non importa se veniva usato un pennello o un coltello.

Ho iniziato a dipingere con una spatola nel 1998 e mi sono innamorata degli effetti che stavo ottenendo e delle possibilità di questa tecnica.

Il coltello si è rivelato essere la voce della mia immaginazione.

Ho una vasta esperienza come artista che lavora con gli oli.

Dipingo da 28 anni e sebbene il mio mezzo preferito siano gli oli, ho lavorato anche con acrilici e pastelli.

Oltre a dipingere sono anche artista del vetro ed argentiere".
