Leonid Afremov | The summer sun of Sicily


Leonid Afremov (1955-2019) was an Jewish artist of Belarusian descent, mainly known as being a self-representing artist who promotes and sells his work exclusively over the internet with very little exhibitions and involvement of dealers and galleries.
Afremov was born in Vitebsk - the same town where Marc Chagall began his artistic career -and passed away on August 19th 2019 from cardiac arrest in Playa Del Carmen.


Afremov developed his passion for painting in the USSR until 1990.
In 2002, he moved to the United States and in 2004 he started selling his paintings on eBay.
Internet exposure resulted in big success and he immediately received positive approval from customers.
He developed his own unique technique and style which is unmistakable and cannot be confused with other artists.
He paints mainly landscape, city scenes, seascapes, flowers and portraits. Most of his work is considered very colorful and politically neutral.

Afremov era nato a Vitebsk, la stessa città in cui Marc Chagall aveva iniziato la sua carriera artistica, ed è deceduto il 19 agosto 2019 per arresto cardiaco a Playa Del Carmen.
Afremov sviluppò la sua passione per la pittura in URSS dal 1990.
Nel 2002 si trasferì negli Stati Uniti e nel 2004 inizio a vendere i suoi quadri su eBay.
L'esposizione in Internet ebbe un grande successo, ed Afremov ricevette immediata approvazione dai clienti.
Negli ultimi 25 anni, sviluppò un proprio stile unico, personale - con la sua tecnica che lo differenziava dagli altri artisti. Dipinse principalmente scene di città, auto d'epoca, paesaggi marini, gatti che suonano jazz e fiori.
