Zsigmond Vajda è stato un pittore Ungherese nato a Bucarest l'11 maggio 1860 e morto a Budapest il 22 maggio 1931.
Ha studiato alla Scuola di Design di Budapest dal 1878.
I suoi maestri furono Bertalan Székely e Károly Lotz.
Successivamente si è formato a Monaco come allievo di Gyula Benczúr.
Divenne famoso principalmente per i suoi dipinti murali (affreschi per il Palazzo del Parlamento di Budapest nello stile di Bertalan Székely).
Ha decorato diversi edifici pubblici capitali e provinciali e case private (Széchenyi Spa, Municipio di Szeged, ecc.).
Nel 1907 organizzò una retrospettiva nella sala Kálmán Könyves, nel 1921 a Nemzeti Szalon.

His most important exhibitions: in 1907 he had a collection exhibition in the Kálmán Könyves Salon, in the Műcsarnok, in 1921 in the National Salon.
His paintings and frescoes can be seen in the Hungarian National Gallery, the Déri Museum in Debrecen, the Hungarian Historical Gallery and the Parliament.
