Emil Nolde (1867-1956) | Flowers

German-Danish painter and printmaker Emil Nolde was one of the first Expressionists, a member of Die Brücke (The Bridge) of Dresden in 1906, and was one of the first oil painting and watercolor painters of the early 20th century to explore color.

On an ethnological expedition to the East Indies 1913-14, he was impressed by the power of the art he saw there. Back in Europe, he produced brooding landscapes and colourful flowers.

As a printmaker he was noted especially for the stark black-and-white effect of his crudely incised woodcuts.

He is known for his brushwork and expressive choice of colors. Golden yellows and deep reds appear frequently in his work, giving a luminous quality to otherwise somber tones. His watercolors include vivid, brooding storm-scapes and brilliant florals.

Edwin Austin Abbey | In Awe, 1900

Edwin Austin Abbey RA (1852-1911) was an American muralist, illustrator and painter.

He flourished at the beginning of what is now referred to as the "golden age" of illustration, and is best known for his drawings and paintings of Shakespearean and Victorian subjects, as well as for his painting of Edward VII's coronation.

Franco Puliti ha proseguito la sua carriera artistica in tutta la regione Toscana, fino a quando è emigrato negli Stati Uniti nel 1980.

Puliti ha imparato le tecniche dell'acquerello e degli oli, producendo dipinti ricchi di luci e ombre.

I suoi rendering dipinti in uno stile iperrealistico noto come "trompe l'oeil" sono spesso al limite dell'essere onirici.

Prende ispirazione dagli oggetti e dai paesaggi che lo circondano mentre insegue un sentimentalismo della sua giovinezza italiana.

Bolesław Szańkowski (1873-1953)

Bolesław Szańkowski (1873-1953) è stato un ritrattista Polacco che ha lavorato a Monaco.

Szańkowski studiò per la prima volta dal 1890 al 1893 all'Accademia d'Arte di Cracovia con Jan Matejko, dal 30 ottobre 1894 all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Monaco con Johann Caspar Herterich ed a Parigi con Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant e Jean- Paul Laurens ed Antonio de la Gandara.

Eser Afacan, 1953 | L'Alchimista moderno

Eser Afacan è un artista di pittura classica famoso in tutto il mondo che è nato in Turchia, successivamente ha studiato e vissuto in Norvegia e Canada per circa 30 anni.

Ha studiato Matematica e Scienze a Manchester, Exeter e Bergen.

Nel 1983, mentre era studente all'Università di Bergen, incontra il famoso artista norvegese Odd Nerdrum ed inizia a lavorare nel suo studio di Oslo.

François Batet (1921-2015)

François Batet was born in Barcelona. Before devoting himself to painting on the theme of the 30s, the legendary "Roaring Twenties" and this from 1977, he abandonded his long career as an illustrator -including Hachette, Gautier-Languereau, France-Soir, France Dimanche, Confidences - and became known in Spain by drawing the famous "El Coyote" until 1951.

Oltre a questo ha partecipato ad altre collettive, a pubblicazioni su quotidiani, riviste e siti internet.

Attualmente oltre all'attività di pittore collabora con riviste letterarie come illustratore.
