The Lie says to the Truth: "It’s a marvelous day today"!

The Truth looks up to the skies and sighs, for the day was truly beautiful.

They walk together for a while, until they reach a beautiful well.

The Lie tells the Truth: "The water in the well is very nice, let’s take a swim together"!

Eugène Galien-Laloue (1854-1941)

Eugène Galien-Laloue (1854-1941) è stato un artista Francese di genitori franco-italiani, nato a Parigi.

A volte giudicato duramente come molti pittori della Belle Epoque, chiamati "Pompiers", Eugène Galien-Laloue, con la sua pittura dell'Ottocento, ha rappresentato scene della vita parigina con grande delicatezza.

Harry Watrous (1857-1940)

Harry Willson Watrous was an American artist who received an academic education in France.

His paintings included genre scenes, stylized figural works, landscapes, nocturnes, portraits, and still lifes.

His 1913 painting The Drop Sinister has been called the first known portrait of an American interracial family.

He is perhaps best known for his enigmatic paintings of sophisticated women, often darkly dressed and seen in profile.

Harry Watrous was born in San Francisco in 1857, the son of Charles and Ruth Willson Watrous.

He had two brothers, Charles 1854-56 and Walter 1860-1903. Harrys father had been a whaler in his youth and made his fortune during the California Gold Rush.

Frederick Childe Hassam (Dorchester, 17 ottobre 1859 - East Hampton, 27 agosto 1935) è stato un pittore impressionista Statunitense.

Conosciuto fin da giovane con il solo nome di Childe, lasciò gli studi prima di conseguire un diploma e iniziò a lavorare come intagliatore.

Frequentò un corso di disegno al Lowell Institute, divisione del MIT, e divenne membro del Boston Art Club. La sua carriera artistica iniziò con le attività di illustratore e pittore d'acquarello.

Dal 1882 Hassam organizzò le sue prime mostre pubbliche, dapprima assieme ad altri artisti, poi presentando solo le sue opere.

Theodore Earl Butler | Pittore Impressionista

Theodore Earl Butler (1861-1936), uno dei pittori Impressionisti più innovativi d'America, non ha ricevuto il riconoscimento che meritava durante la sua vita, poiché è stato quasi eclissato dal suo famoso suocero, Claude Monet.

Nato nel 1861, Butler si iscrisse all'Art Students League di New York, poi continuò i suoi studi presso varie accademie d'arte a Parigi.

Si recò per la prima volta a Giverny nell'estate del 1888, il villaggio che sarebbe diventato la Colonia degli Artisti Impressionisti.

Inizialmente ispirato da Monet, che vi si stabilì nel 1883, Butler scaturì dalla tavolozza del pittore francese, sviluppando una propria tecnica ed uno stile che prevede elementi del movimento Nabi: forme semplici, contorni pronunciati ed effetti spaziali appiattiti.
