Eugene de Blaas (1843-1931)


Eugene de Blaas🎨 was born to Austrian parents. His father, Karl (1815-1894), teacher to him and his brother Julius became Professor at the Academy in Vienna and Venice, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
It was in Venice that Eugene de Blaas established himself as the leading painter of Venetian genre.
The golden Italian climate and the magnificent old stone facades had made Venice an essential stop on the Grand Tour since the early eighteenth century.
Past visitors had returned home with views and portraits; the late nineteenth visitor wanted more.

Olga Sacharoff (1889-1967)

Olga Nicolaevna Sacharoff was a Spanish artist of Russo-Persian origin associated with naive art and the Surrealist movement.
Olga Sacharoff (also spelled Sakhorova, Zakharova, or Zacharoff) was born in Georgia, which at the time was a part of the Russian Empire.
Her mother was of Persian origin. After studying at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts, she visited Rome and traveled to Munich, where she came in contact with the German Expressionist movement.

Later on he was introduced to oil painting and palette knife techniques by friend of the family who were artist in attendance at the Leonardo da Vinci school of art in Rome.
