Frank Markham Skipworth | A dancing girl, 1889

Frank Markham Skipworth (1854 Castor, Lincolnshire - 1929 London) was a very well known painter of portraits, genre and historical subjects.
He studied for two years at the Lincoln School of Art, for three years at the Royal Academy Schools, under Sir Edward John Poynter (1836-1919)) and finally in 1883-84 was a pupil of the famous Adolphe William Bouguereau in Paris.

He exhibited at the Royal Academy, London from 1883, showed also his works in the Society of British Artists (Suffol Street, London), New Watercolor Society, Gosvenor Gallery, New Gallery and elsewhere.
