Vicky Mount, 1975

Vicky Mount is an established artist, known for Humorous figure, town scenes and animal paintings.

Her oil paintings represent the quirkiness and love of everyday life… mostly through cats’ eyes.

Vicky lives in Edinburgh, Scotland with her husband, daughter, two cats, and a big old dog.

Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928)

Charles Rennie Mackintosh was a Scottish architect, designer, water colourist and artist.

His artistic approach had much in common with European Symbolism.

His work, alongside that of his wife Margaret Macdonald, was influential on European design movements such as Art Nouveau and Secessionism and praised by great modernists such as Josef Hoffmann.

Robert McGregor | Genre painter

Robert McGregor RSA (1847-1922) was a Scottish landscape painter, genre painter, portrait painter and marine painter.

His genre was particularly painting working men such as fishermen, shepherds, crofters, pedlars, and farm labourers.

However he also painted Scottish, French and Dutch country and coastal scenery.

He usually signed his work in the right hand bottom corner.

Thomas Faed | Genre painter

Thomas Faed RSA (1826-1900) was a Scottish painter.

Faed was born on 8 June 1826, at Barlay Mill in Gatehouse of Fleet, Kirkcudbrightshire, and was the brother of the artists James Faed, John Faed and Susan Faed.

He received his art education in the school of design, Edinburgh and was elected an associate of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1849.

He went to London three years later, was elected an associate of the Royal Academy in 1861, and academician in 1864, and retired in 1893.

Dorothy Johnstone | Modern painter

Dorothy Johnstone (1892-1980) è stata una pittrice ed acquerellista Scozzese.

Johnstone è nata ad Edimburgo nel 1892 ed è cresciuta a Napier Road, vicino alla Gothic Mansion, Rockville.

Suo padre, il paesaggista George Whitton Johnstone RSA (1849-1901), incoraggiò il suo talento artistico ed all'età di 16 anni si iscrisse come studentessa all'Edinburgh College of Art.

Ha frequentato un corso con Ernest Stephen Lumsden dove ha rivelato il suo talento nella ritrattistica informale, un genere per il quale è diventata famosa.

Nel 1914 divenne membro del personale dell'Edinburgh College of Art.

Tishk Barzanji

Muriel Barclay | I Ballerini della danza classica

La pittrice Scozzese Muriel Barclay ha uno sfondo artistico insolito. Nata e cresciuta a Glasgow, si è laureata presso l'Università di Edimburgo prima di recarsi a Londra, dove inizialmente ha lavorato nella Galleria Jacques O'Hana a Mayfair, a Londra.

È tornata a Glasgow per insegnare storia e crescere la sua famiglia, mentre allo stesso tempo studia disegno e pittura alla Scuola d'Arte di Glasgow e Storia delle Belle Arti presso l'Open University.

Robert Fowler (1853-1926)

Robert Fowler è stato un artista Scozzese che dipinse scene mitologiche e paesaggi.

Fowler è nato ad Anstruther, nel Fife, ed è stato allevato principalmente da suo zio e sua zia mentre i suoi genitori erano via per lavoro.

Ha mostrato una predisposizione molto precoce per l'arte, partendo prima dal disegno a matita per poi passare alla pittura e alla modellazione della creta.

La sua famiglia si trasferì a Liverpool e Fowler andò a scuola al Liverpool College.

All'età di 16 anni, trovò lavoro in un ufficio commerciale dove il suo talento per l'arte fu riconosciuto dal suo datore di lavoro, che incoraggiò i genitori di Fowler a mandarlo alla scuola d'arte.
