Arthur Elsley | I'se biggest! 1892

The "I'se Biggest!", which was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1892, won Arthur John Elsley’s considerable public acclaim, a small girl standing on tip-toe atop a thick book, comparing her height with that of a large St. Bernard Dog.

Later the painting had to be re-engraved to satisfy public demand.

Elsley continued to paint these good-natured dogs throughout his career, they appear in more than thirty of his paintings.

L'artista Ricardo Celma è nato a Buenos Aires.

La sua vocazione artistica si sviluppa immediatamente: a cinque anni frequenta un laboratorio d'arte, a 16 anni ha realizzato la sua prima mostra personale, e cosi ha continuato ininterrottamente per 20 anni.

Al termine del liceo è entrato alla Scuola Nazionale di Belle Arti Prilidiano Pueyrredón, dove ha conseguito il titolo di Professore nazionale di disegno e pittura, con ottimi voti.

Ma, anche se estremamente gratificante, questa non era la sua vera vocazione.

Anastasia Vostrezova / Анастасия Вострецова was born in a family of artists in Ekaterinburg.

She spent all of her childhood in Moscow and in Pereslavl-Zalesski where her family had a summer house.

She graduated from the I.Shadr Art College, Ekaterinburg (2000) and continued her art education in Saint Petersburg.

In 2008 Anastasia Vostrezova graduated from the I. Repin Saint Petersburg Academy of Fine Arts, where she studied in the studio of Professor M. Devyatov.

Now she live and work in Saint Petersburg.

Constant Troyon | Pittore della scuola di Barbizon

TROYON, Constant - Pittore, nato a Sèvres il 28 agosto 1810, morto a Parigi il 20 marzo 1865.

Figlio di un decoratore della manifattura di Sèvres, e desiderando entrarvi anch'egli come pittore di fiori, cominciò a dipingere bozzetti dal vero, prendendo gusto al paesaggio.

Nel 1833 espose opere ispirate ai sobborghi in cui viveva: La Fête de Sèvres; Un coin du Parc de St.-Cloud, rivelandosi ancora legato alla maniera classica, pesante nelle ombre ed analitico.

I consigli di C. Roqueplan gli schiusero orizzonti più vasti; il Limousin e la Creuse l'ispirarono.
