Luigi Benedicenti (1948-2015) was an Photorealist painter from Chieri (Torino), Italy, recognized for his seductive representations of sweets, pastries, and other still life compositions.

Benedicenti’s sensual use of light, reflection, and his invisible brush strokes make his gloss-like paintings seem edible enough to eat.

For his work, he chose the theme of food.

Luigi graduated from Turin School of Arts.

L'uso sensuale della luce, del riflesso e delle pennellate invisibili di Benedicenti fanno sì che i suoi dipinti lucidi sembrino abbastanza commestibili da essere mangiati.

Fin da giovane si dedica alla pittura, ma è negli anni ’90 che perfeziona la sua tecnica iperrealista, realizzando quadri che sembrano fotografie.

Tra le sue opere più famose l’intera serie dedicata ai dolci e ai pasticcini.

Era suo anche il grande trittico nella Cappella di Santa Rita da Cascia del Duomo di Chieri.

Molto apprezzato anche all’estero, ha esposto anche a Londra e New York.
