Daud Akhriev / Дауд Ахриев was born in the former Soviet Union.

He studied classical painting and drawing for 14 years, graduating with honors from the Repin Institute (Russian Academy of Fine Art) with a masters degree in fine art, under the tutelage of the late painter and Academic, Piotr Fomin.

In 1991 he emigrated to Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Akhriev, now a U.S. citizen, shares his time between Andalusia, Spain and Chattanooga, Tennessee with his artist wife.

The "Last Supper", in the refectory of Santa Maria Novella (not open to the public), is the only work Plautilla Nelli (1524-1588) signed.

Painted in the 1570s, Nelli's "Last Supper" is a first rendered by a woman. Florence has the richest tradition of paintings with the theme of the "Last Supper" in the world.

Her most significant work because of its size and subject, it is a seven-meter long oil on canvas.

Last Supper was under restoration for four years.

Nato nel New Jersey, Stuart Dunkel - musicista e pittore - ha iniziato a suonare musica classica e pittura all'età di 5 anni.

Ha studiato musica alla Boston University, al Mannes College of Music, alla Juilliard School (dottorato).

Ha anche studiato arte presso la Boston Museum School, Kent State, l'Academy of Realist Art, la Seattle Academy of Art e privatamente con artisti famosi.

Dopo una carriera come musicista suonando con le migliori orchestre di tutto il mondo, Stuart passò alle belle arti all'età di 42 anni.

"Chi preferisce?" aveva chiesto per telefono la signora Ermelina. "Faccio venire la Laide?" e nella voce c'era un'ombra vaga di malizia come se lei si fosse accorta di qualche cosa.

"Chi preferisce?" aveva chiesto la signora Ermelina.

"Mah, non so" aveva detto lui.

"Faccio venire la Laide?"

"La Laide, sì. O la Lietta".

"La Lietta?"

"Ma sì, mi ha detto che si chiama Lietta"."Ah, la Lietta! quella un po' robusta?" "Sì, sì" fece lui.

Properzia de' Rossi in Giorgio Vasari's Lives

Properzia de' Rossi (Bologna, 1490-1530) was a ground-breaking female Italian Renaissance sculptor and one of only four women (Properzia de'Rossi, Sister Plautilla Nelli, Sofonisba Anguissola, and Madonna Lucrezia) to receive a biography in Giorgio Vasari's Vite de’ più eccellenti pittori, scultori, e architettori (The Lives of the Artists, 1550 and 1568).

Argued to be one of the first women in Western European art to professionalise in the field of sculpture, her achievement was gained during a time when sculpture as an art form was believed to be exclusively the prerogative of men.

La rivide qualche giorno dopo, sempre dalla signora Ermelina. Aveva telefonato come al solito, chiedendo però della Laide. Come la trovò di nuovo in quella specie di salotto, restò un poco deluso. Stavolta aveva tirato su i capelli raccogliendoli sulla nuca e sembrava trasandata. Spiccavano nel volto quei tratti vagamente popolareschi e sguaiati, il naso petulante che terminava in patatina, il moto delle labbra, che si aprivano di tanto in tanto a valva, con espressione furbesca, provocante e sicura di sé.

A graduate of the National School of Fine Arts in Algiers, Abdelhalim Kebieche has taken part in national and international exhibitions from 1994 until today.

Moreover, his last collective exhibition was last November where he represented Algeria for the 2nd edition of the Contemporary Art Days of Carthage (JACC), in Tunisia.

Kebieche received his first gold medal for his painting "The Absurd" exhibited at the competition of the Mondial Art Academy (MAA) in Paris.
