Mike Savad is an photographer. His style of digital manipulation of images and the addition of color to old images, to achieve that personal cyberpunk effect is fantastic. Mike has achieved a unique style that makes him recognizable all over the world.

"Mike Savad: Photo realistic is what people think of first. There are many themes, flowers, porches, and local Suburban Scenes, some city, some urban.

My style is not really photography and not really a painting.I create images that resemble paintings, a cross between Rockwell, and the paintings of the Renaissance.

I don't like plain photos. I found that over time every photographers work will look the same. Its hard to set yourself apart from everyone else if your work looks like everyone else's".

Perugino | The Delivery of the Keys, 1481-1482

The wall paintings of the Sistine Chapel are among the most important examples of the type of painting developed in Florence in the later fifteenth century.

The five artists brought to Rome to execute them came from various different art centres: Botticelli, Ghirlandaio and Rosselli from Florence, Perugino from Umbria, Signorelli from Cortona.

Perugino's contribution was the largest, with the altar wall paintings and three additional pictures.

Recent scholars have concluded that it was he who was in charge of the whole project and who produced the overall design.

It is true that in "the Christ Handing the Keys to St Peter" his portraits appears next to those of the architect and builder.

Cristo Redentore (Rio De Janeiro, 1931)

La statua del Cristo Redentore di Rio de Janeiro è uno dei monumenti più conosciuti al mondo. Il monumento, alto circa 39.6 metri, raffigura un grande Gesù Cristo dalle braccia aperte, a simboleggiare il calore e l'accoglienza del popolo brasiliano verso i visitatori.

Situato sulla montagna del Corcovado, all'interno del Parco Nazionale di Tijuca, sorge proprio sulla cima del monte, a più di 700 metri sul livello del mare, a picco sulla città e sulla baia di Rio de Janeiro, è alta 38 metri, di cui 8 metri fanno parte del basamento, in posizione dominante rispetto alla città.

Dall'alto della sua posizione si apre una splendida veduta sul panorama circostante, che comprende la città di Rio de Janeiro con la sua baia. Da qui sono inoltre visibili il Pan di Zucchero e la Baia di Guanabara e Niteròi, così come le spiagge di Copacabana, di Ipanema e la Laguna Rodrigo de Freitas.

Genre painting

Genre painting (or petit genre), a form of genre art, depicts aspects of everyday life by portraying ordinary people engaged in common activities.

One common definition of a genre scene is that it shows figures to whom no identity can be attached either individually or collectively - thus distinguishing petit genre from history paintings (also called grand genre) and portraits.

A work would often be considered as a genre work even if it could be shown that the artist had used a known person - a member of his family, say - as a model.

In this case it would depend on whether the work was likely to have been intended by the artist to be perceived as a portrait - sometimes a subjective question.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (French, 1864-1901)

Throughout his career, which spanned fewer than 20 years, Toulouse-Lautrec created 737 canvases, 275 watercolours, 363 prints and posters, 5.084 drawings, some ceramic and stained glass work, and an unknown number of lost works.

His debt to the Impressionists, in particular the more figurative painters Claude Monet 1840-1926 and Edgar Degas 1834-1917, is apparent. His style was also influenced by the classical Japanese woodprints which became popular in art circles in Paris.

In the works of Toulouse-Lautrec can be seen many parallels to Monet's detached barmaid at A Bar at the Folies-Bergère and the behind-the-scenes ballet dancers of Degas.

Ignacio Zuloaga y Zabaleta (Spanish, 1870-1945)

Ignacio Zuloaga y Zabaletawas was a Spanish Genre and portrait painter noted for his theatrical paintings of figures from spanish culture and folklore depicting of traditional spanish characters, including peasants, gypsies and bullfighters.

Ignacio Zuloaga y Zabaleta born in Eibar, near the monastery of Loyola. He was the son of metalworker and damascener Plácido Zuloaga and grandson of the organizer and director of the royal armoury in Madrid. In his youth, he drew and worked in his father's workshop. He was educated by the Jesuits in France.

His father wanted him to be an architect, and with this objective in mind, he was sent to Rome, where he immediately followed the strong impulse that led him to painting.

Ognian Kouzmanov (Bulgarian, 1979)

Ognian Kouzmanov is a professional artist who lives and works in Pleven, Bulgaria.

He has made many exhibitions in France, Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Czech Republic, Marocco, Serbia and Bulgaria.

Many of his art works are possession of different European private collectors. He paints mainly abstract paintings.

Alexandre Debrus (1843-1905) | Still lifes painter

Alexandre Debrus was born in Spa in 1818 as the son of Jean Nicolas Debrus. He also died there in 1905.

L’Implorante, fa parte del gruppo scultorio L'Âge Mûr - L'età matura, una delle sculture più conosciute della Claudel, sia per lo stile che per la maestosità di cui vi è una versione in gesso ed una in bronzo. Richiestale dallo stesso Auguste Rodin 1840-1917 nel 1895, l'opera fu messa in mostra nella versione gesso nel 1899.

Il gruppo scultoreo fa richiamo al Rodin stesso indeciso fra le sua prima compagna, che poi sposerà e Camille -divenuta sua amante dall'età di 18 anni- che nel gruppo scultoreo è simboleggiata dalla figura che tenta di trattenere il "vecchio" amante che ormai si sta rivolgendo verso la sua futura sposa dimostrando comunque un che di esitante.

The history of Buddhism spans from the 6th century BCE to the present. Buddhism arose in the eastern part of Ancient India, in and around the ancient Kingdom of Magadha (now in Bihar, India), and is based on the teachings of Siddhārtha Gautama.

The religion evolved as it spread from the northeastern region of the Indian subcontinent through Central, East, and Southeast Asia. At one time or another, it influenced most of the Asian continent.

The history of Buddhism is also characterized by the development of numerous movements, schisms, and schools, among them the Theravāda, Mahāyāna and Vajrayāna traditions, with contrasting periods of expansion and retreat.

Josephine Wall (British, 1947)

"The art of painting is more than a career to me", she says, "it is an all consuming obsession and a love of colour and form. In fact, if I am away from my easel for too long I become restless and anxious to paint again" - Josephine Wall.

Wall's paintings are mainly influenced and inspired by Arthur Rackham, with lesser influences from surrealist artists such as Magritte and Dalí, and the romanticism of the pre-Raphaelites.

A number of her works were exhibited in Teheran and Tokyo during 1974 and her first solo exhibition took place the following year in Swindon. Josephine and her paintings were the subject of a special feature on Southern Television in 1990.

Following a visit to the Spring Fair in Birmingham in 1993 she signed contracts with firms in Britain and Switzerland to publish her work as prints, posters and cards for worldwide distribution.

Her originals and limited edition prints by are often sold through Courtenay's Fine Art and Courtyard of Romance.

Givi Siproshvili (Georgian, 1940)

Morgan Weistling (American, 1964)

Morgan began to develop a sense of narrative in his drawing. “It was here that art became a language for me”. At the age of 12, Morgan applied his interest in art to studying his father’s art books and began his art school studies at the Brandes Art Institute at 15. Working in a Los Angeles art supply store while attending art school, Morgan chanced to show his artwork to a prominent illustrator.

As a result of their encounter, at the age of 19, Weistling found himself employed at a top movie poster agency in Hollywood.

Andrew Atroshenko (Russian, 1965)

Andrew Atroshenko's work is distinguished by the movement, color and passion. Andrew Atroshenko was born in the city of Pokrovsk, Russia. Accepted as a gifted child in 1977 into the Children’s Art School, Andrew graduated with honors in 1981.

Two years later, Andrew entered Bryansk Art College, and in 1991 was accepted at one of the most prestigious art schools in the world, the St. Petersburg Academy of Art.

In 1994, Andrew began taking part in exhibitions such as St. Petersburg Artists in Reutlingen, Germany, the exhibition of a group “Academy” in St. Petersburg 1996, and “Teacher’s memory” 1997.

Masaccio | Vita ed opere

Masaccio, soprannome di Tommaso di ser Giovanni di Mone Cassai (Castel San Giovanni in Altura, 21 dicembre 1401 - Roma, giugno 1428), è stato un pittore Italiano.

Fu uno degli iniziatori del Rinascimento a Firenze, rinnovando la pittura secondo una nuova visione rigorosa, che rifiutava gli eccessi decorativi e l'artificiosità dello stile allora dominante, il gotico internazionale.

Partendo dalla sintesi volumetrica di Giotto, riletta attraverso la costruzione prospettica brunelleschiana e la forza plastica della statuaria donatelliana, inserì le sue «figure vivissime e con bella prontezza a la similitudine del vero» (Vasari) in architetture e paesaggi credibili, modellandole attraverso l'uso del chiaroscuro.

Jim Farrant (British painter, 1972)

Born in Taunton Somerset, British painter🎨 Jim Farrant attended Portsmouth College of Art.

After a period of travel throughout America and Australia he commenced painting full-time in 2002 and has had considerable success since then. Jim's work is inspired by the American realist school.

Robert Fowler (1853-1926)

Kazuhiro Uno / 卯野和宏 is a remarkable Japanese painter🎨 born in Ibaraki Prefecture.

In 2002 he graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at Musashino University of Art, in the class of Hiroshi Sakurai.

In 2004 he took a course in oil painting, also at Musashino University of Art, under the direction of Kuno Kazuhiro.

Kazuhiro Uno's work focuses on the female figure and still life.

He is currently a member of the Federation of Japanese Artists.

The 16th century one of the most tumultuous periods in Western culture - primarily due to the Protestant Reformation.

Was a time of unprecedented change that saw the very beginning of the modern era of science, great exploration, religious and political turmoil, extraordinary literature, the High Renaissance and Mannerism.

This period also sees the beginnings of the scientific revolution and the colonization of the new world.

During the 16th century, advancements were also made in the theories of mathematics, cosmography, geography, and natural history.

In this century inventions related to the fields of engineering, mining, navigation, and the military arts were prominent.

Jeremy Mann (American, 1979) | Figures

Jeremy Mann is a painter best known for his moody, dark cityscapes. Mann graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Fine Art painting, and later attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Working on wood panels, Mann employs various techniques when creating his pieces, including staining the surface, wiping away paint with solvents, and applying broad marks with an ink brayer.

Natalie Shau, 1984 | Pop Surrealism painter

Natalie Shau is mixed media artist and photographer based in Lithuania (Vilnius). She refers to herself as a mixed media artist and photographer with an interest in fashion and portrait photography as well as digital illustration and photo art.

Some go as far as to describe her as a world-famous female representative of the hi-tec avant-garde of figurative art and leading illustrator and photographer in the digital art scene.

However, none of her shorter or longer biographies published on the internet make clear whether the Lithuanian ever attended art school at all or whether she is a mere autodidact. Considering the absence of any reference to an art education in her biographies, one rather has to assume the latter.

Izumi Kogahara (Japanese, 1979)

Izumi Kogahara is a Japanese painter🎨 and graphic designer, born in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture.

In the painting world, Izumi Kogahara is what one might call a natural-born master of color use.

Her unique use of warm, cool and neutral colors in all directions produces a singular brilliance and depth from each hue.

In 1999 Andrew spent the entire year in the U.S. He was invited by "Bay Arts", a New England based group, to take part in their exhibitions and activities.

Michael Malm (American, 1972)

El Greco | Il periodo Italiano

Dal momento che Creta era, fin dal 1211, un possedimento della Repubblica di Venezia, fu naturale per il giovane El Greco (1541-1614) continuare la propria carriera a Venezia.

Anche se l'anno esatto del trasferimento non è noto, la maggior parte degli studiosi concorda nello stabilirlo attorno al 1567.

Secondo altro materiale d'archivio, ovvero dei disegni che mandò a un cartografo cretese, l'artista nel 1568 si trovava a Venezia.

Non si sa molto degli anni trascorsi in Italia da El Greco.

Ademaro Bardelli è nato a Firenze e partecipava alla vita artistica dal 1956.

Francine Van Hove è una pittrice Francese contemporanea.

Nata a Saint-Mandé (Senna, Francia), ha studiato a Parigi ed ha conseguito una laurea in Belle Arti con qualifiche per insegnare nelle scuole secondarie.

Dopo aver insegnato per un anno al Lycee de Jeunes Filles di Strasburgo, si è dimessa dalla sua posizione ed ha deciso di tornare a Parigi nel 1964, dove ora vive e continua a dipingere. È nota per i suoi dipinti di giovani donne con atteggiamenti sognanti.

Berit Kruger-Johnsen | The Dream Seller

Growing up in Oslo, Norway, nature has always played a major part in Berit Kruger-Johnsen's life. She studied for a degree in biology and upon completion was accepted into the only graphic design school in Oslo at that time.

Berit Kruger-Johnsen was taught by two British illustrators. She went on to work in the advertising industry for a year and now works as a freelance illustrator.

For the last thirteen years Berit Kruger-Johnston has been residing in Australia. She still has family based in Norway so frequently travels to her home town.

Kitty Meijering (Dutch, 1974)

Kitty Meijering, born in Alkmaar and studied at the Amsterdam University.

At this University she followed a visual arts education, which she completed in 1998. For her last study project she painted namely models.

At this moment dance🎨 and specifically ballet is the main theme Kitty dedicates her time to.

"My name is Victor Bauer and currently I live and work in New York. My work can be found in corporate and private collections in the US, Europe and Canada.

I consider myself a self taught artist. Painting comes as natural as walking to me. My father was a painter, and I grew up playing in his studio, drawing experimenting with colors.

My earlier works were mostly abstracts and during these years I developed my own style and technique using mostly just a palette knife".
